About
Built on a decade of doing this work from the inside.
Clarita Advisory was founded to give public sector organisations access to the kind of specialist IG support that was previously only available through large, expensive firms or full-time hires.
Why this consultancy exists
Local authority information governance has become one of the most pressured disciplines in local government. FOI request volumes have risen sharply. SARs are increasingly used in the context of employment disputes, housing complaints and social care decisions — making them longer, more complex and more contested. And throughout all of this, IG team headcount has remained flat or fallen.
The organisations that manage this best are not always the ones with the largest teams. They are the ones that know when to bring in specialist support — and where to find it.
Clarita Advisory exists to be that support. A specialist focused entirely on information governance in the public sector — with the experience to be useful from day one, not after a period of learning the landscape.
“A CIPP/E certified information governance professional with over ten years in local government — including senior advisory roles at two of the UK’s largest metropolitan councils.”

Our approach to the work
- • Every piece of work is handled by a specialist. We do not sub-contract or use automated tools to draft responses without expert review and sign-off.
- • We write for the person reading the response — whether that is a resident, an individual exercising subject access rights or a senior officer who needs a DPIA they can present to their board.
- • We give honest advice. If a request is borderline, we say so. If an exemption will not withstand ICO scrutiny, we say so.
- • We measure ourselves against outcomes. Requests closed cleanly. Deadlines met. ICO complaints avoided.
